Charisma is very important - Charisma is one of those social skills that make you shine. A charismatic person can move in any business circle and social situation. Charisma goes a long way with everybody. It takes you much further in life than any degree could alone. A charismatic person will go further than a highly educated person without these social skills. The combination of the two (charisma with your education) is golden. The great news is that you can be taught charisma quickly. You are not born with it, you learn it. Here is how:
Charisma mistakes not to make – The key to being a master at people skills is to do the opposite of what most people do. The most common mistake you can make is to focus on yourself. People care about what matters most to them. And what matters most to them is themselves. The most common word spoken in the English language is the “I”. When you see a group photograph, you look for yourself in the picture first. When you have a toothache, stopping the pain that tooth is giving you is more important than any kid starving in a third world country. So if the people you speaking to talk about themselves, and you talk about yourself, then everybody is speaking from a very self driven motive. Give others what they want. Interact with others keeping them in mind. Encourage them talk about themselves and let them know that you are very interested in what they have to say about themselves.
How to be charismatic – After graduating from USC with a bachelor’s degree in the Study of Human Social Behavior (Sociology) , I still needed a real world guide for social skills. You want to be charismatic so, I did the research for you. How to win friends and influence people is the granddaddy of charisma and human relation books. It is the best book on the subject. If I read How to win friends and influence people back in high school, I would have been student body president, voted most likely to succeed and most popular. A huge bonus is that this book is cheap. I could gather the cash to buy it from the change left in my car! It is completely worth its weight in gold. I continue to use How to win friends and influence people as my bible to all things Charisma. It is that good.
