People care about what matters most to them. And what matters most to them is themselves. The most common word spoken in the English language is the “I”. When you see a group photograph, you look for yourself in the picture first. When you have a toothache, stopping the pain that tooth is giving you is more important than any kid starving in a third world country. So if the people you speaking to talk about themselves, and you talk about yourself, then everybody is speaking from a very self driven motive. Give others what they want. Interact with others keeping them in mind. Encourage them talk about themselves and let them know that you are very interested in what they have to say about themselves.
